Certainly - repair BRASOV from 244.
Old owner asserted, that oil change made through each 1000km, and on my question:
- why such black oil in the engine?
Has said:
- what, do you not understand? It is a diesel engine!
I to argue did not begin. All the same will do full auditing. Will be investigating...
... The auditing of the engine has come. There was a hope (very weak), that will be enough a washing and installation of new gaskets...
Has taken off the oil bath. The oil in him was similar jelly (at +10C'), and at washing the unpleasant gift was found. Fragment of snap ring. Using small lamp I discovered damaging of third cylinder. All became clear. Illness of the motor BRASOV. Full repair of engine...
... It illness was touched approx 50% of engines ( plant numbers 115XXX - 118XXX, from those that i visible).
- Piston pin do depress of snap ring;
- fragments of ring, and then itself pin do damages of the cylinder liner.
It was reasons:
- Became to black oil fast.
- Motor very much "sweated" by oil.
- The oil is strong "oxidized" and converting in jelly...
Practically, it problem, always in second or third cylinder.
Further - order, waiting of spare parts. After receiving parts - disassembling, washing and checking of engine parts...
Other damages also was found...

In time washing and checking such damaged was found:
- destruction on third piston in the snap rings placement zone
- destructions all upper rod bushs
- as usually - two bad tapped found(tacheti) :!:
- more "black wax" :shock:
But:
- all the rest the cylinder groups in very nice condition. Offensively, new liners is necessary. BRASOV construction don't allow to changing one liner. Only all liners set! :(
Liners change, also honing, was made in special service. Also upper rod bushes, in this service, was change and chisel out. Costs ~ 200E.
- the best condition of crankshaft. Wear : 0,01-0,02mm, elliptic 0,01mm.
- all main and rod bushes nice condition (to go in reserve)
- other parts also is have nice condition.

What oil are you using?

What pistons and liners are you going to use to replace the engine set?

What oil used? It is unknow... In this engine, is probable, used simply "auto-tractor oil", i.e. such, as may be in deep village...

About engine set and repair:
1. liners - did by order in service. Used liners from camion. Honing up to necessary dimensions.
2. pistons - replaced only damaged.
Earlier not such was technology of assembling piston-pin-rod. Owing to absence of new rod shells the assembly carried out as on the L27 engines, i.e. with a rigid placed by finger and assembly under heating. It firstly was "standart way" of repair it unit. On this engine to place "sliding piston pin", as was from plant. By it reason was necessary change of third piston. By assembling with "rigid pin", of necessary for change with such damage, wasn't. Piston and two tapped a took from "stocks".
Spare parts:
piston rings - GOETZE 08-207200-00 (95mm, STD);
rod shell - FEDERAL MOGUL AEB 91809 STD;
main shell - FEDERAL MOGUL AEM 91810 STD;
upper rod shell - FEDERAL MOGUL AES96428UNB;
oil sealing - NOK (japan);
head gaskets - made by order;
water pump - EMMERRE SRL 907149
all the rest of - "native".
