ARO 12 a fost produsa in serie mica pentru MApN. Acesta era realizat pe sasiu de Aro 10, cutie de viteze de Aro 10 si caroserie de Dacia 1310 Break. Motorul era un motor Ifa in 3 pistoane diesel si tractiune 4x4.

Acum peste 25 de ani, la ordinul lui Ceauşescu s-a încercat primul crossover din “blocul estic”, Aro 12 .

Astfel inginerii români au combinat platforma tehnică a lui Aro 10 cu structura şi înfăţişarea Daciei 1310 Break. Prin urmare, Aro 12 sau Dacia 1310 “4×4″, s-ar putea spune că a fost primul crossover mioritic (maşina ce îmbină spaţiul şi confortul unui break obişnuit, cu gardă la sol mărită şi performanţele unui model “4×4″).

Aro 12 nu s-a făcut la Dacia, ci la Câmpulung. Maşină dispunea de tracţiune integrală nepermanentă, diferenţial blocabil manual şi motor diesel, de provenienţa IFA. S-au realizat câteva exemplare, special pentru Armată. Unele dintre ele se mai află încă în circulaţie.

Acum peste 20 de ani Ceausescu era mort si ingropat de 2 ani.

Daca ai mai adauga 5 la aia 20 ar fi mai aproape de realitate.
